A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"First time here and the experience is good. Place is nice and food is good. Staff are friendly and responsive when needed. Pricing is good for the food and service. The only con i can say is their exhaust, not that effective against smelling like food after dining heheh. Parking is available but kinda full when we were their. Nice location and accessibility."
"Had a very satisfying lunch at Hao Tang! The Tomato broth was definitely the highlight.... so tasty and incredibly flavorful. I was also impressed with the premium quality of the meats; they were lean and not overly fatty, which I really appreciated. The variety of balls were great too! My only disappointment was that they were out of cheese balls and mushrooms during our visit, which I was really looking forward to. However, I made up for it with plenty of fresh Bok Choy and extra protein. Overall, a solid hotpot experience. Will definitely come back to finally try those cheese balls!"
"One of our fave spots in Davao. Also Jayson is so accommodating. Nice customer service. And if I may suggest, I hope they put up blinds in their glass windows."
"They have options for hotpot only or hotpot + grill. Hotpot only is PHP 599.00 per person (plus service charge). They have different kinds of broth, and we chose sichuan for an additional PHP 99.00 (unli refill). The quality of the sliced meat is good. For the hotpot balls, I really liked their cheese balls. Veggies are also fresh. Sauce bar was alright, but there's no MSG and black vinegar. After the meal, they gave us good tasting coffee jelly. Ate here dinner time and it was packed. It's better if you call ahead and reserve. I paid using card."
"This is a perfect place if you are craving a hotpot. It's ₱599 per head and there's a minimum of two diners per visit. You each get a soup base and if you add a third one, you add ₱99. I highly recommend tomato and Sichuan soup bases. My husband tried the extra spicy Sichuan and it was an instant regret. Regular is perfect or mild if you're hesitating. Meats are of premium quality. Their peanut sauce is super perfect for me but you can also create your own mix at the sauce station. They also offer an option to upgrade with a grill, which is ₱798 per head. I suggest trying out the grill too, but be careful because you get charged with ₱599 if you have leftovers. Just order what you are able to consume. You should like the grill because they got very good marinades. My husband and I found grilling overwhelming but if you're younger and a foodie it should not be a problem. There's usually a queue in the evenings but I suggest coming around 7:30-8:30 PM. They cut off at 9:30 PM and close at 11 PM. Also bring some extra patience because they can get packed. On our first visit, there was a vacant table but the crew politely asked us to forgo it because it was ideal for groups. It was understandable but we had to wait 15 minutes more. In contrast, on our third visit, we almost skipped the line because the available table was good for two and the people who were waiting ahead of us were in big groups. So it's case to case actually. Again, be patient and understanding."
"We went during lunch time on a Friday. We were accommodated quickly since the place was not full. Service was also fast. The broth flavors are exceptional, I would personally recommend the Tomato Broth. There’s also a wide selection of condiments to choose from, as well as freshly chopped spices and herbs. Meat cuts are decent, although quite a lot of fat. They also have multiple vegetables. Unfortunately, there’s no seafood available. It would also be nice if drinks are included in the unlimited promo. Overall, the place is spacious and can accommodate large groups of people. The only consideration might be the room temperature since the air conditioners cannot fully nullify the heat from the soup. Recommended for birthdays or friends/family gatherings, tho you need to reserve for this if ever."
"Hao Tang is one of the go-to spots for hotpot in Davao, but just be prepared for the crowds. Knowing how busy it gets during weekend dinner hours, we made sure to go on a weekday and a bit later in the evening. That strategy worked well for us since there was no line. On peak days, though, it’s not unusual to wait up to two hours since they don’t take reservations. We tried their unlimited hotpot and grill set at ₱798 per head, and I’d say it was worth the price. The selection of meats and vegetables was generous, and everything we had tasted fresh. A personal highlight was the beef bulgogi from the grill. It was tender, well-seasoned, and flavorful. However, the place can get pretty noisy. During our visit, it was a bit hard to carry a conversation because of the lively crowd at other tables. Service could also be improved. It took a while to get the staff’s attention when we needed refills or assistance. That said, Hao Tang is still a solid choice if you're craving hotpot and grill. Just try to plan your visit during off-peak hours to avoid the long wait and fully enjoy the experience."
"Hao Tang Hot Pot is definitely worth trying if you're in the mood for some delicious hot pot. Their menu isn't explicitly stated online, but considering they're a hot pot restaurant, you can expect a variety of broths and ingredients to choose from. Others would say the soup is bland, but actually you can try to add flavor depending on your choice placed on the condiments counter. For us, the broth is rich and flavorful and has wide variety of ingredients to choose from. Their service is a bit busy depending on the crowd but they are very attentive and friendly. Hao Tang is located down town with modern ambiance, perfect for dates or group gatherings and of course has reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food. r"
